At the Core Family Health Centre
At the Core Family Health Centre, our primary intention is to offer our patients full service family medicine.
Our services include early pregnancy and shared prenatal care, newborn care, pediatrics, adolescent and adult care, immunizations, general gynecology, sports medicine, care of the elderly, minor surgery, general dermatology and palliative care.
Specialty consultations are made when necessary and indicated.
Regular Clinic Hours
Our phones and doors are open during the following times:

Monday — 9:00 am – 12 noon, 1 pm – 7:30pm
Tuesday — 9:00 am – 12 noon, 1 pm – 7:30pm
Wednesday — 9:00 am – 12 noon, 1 pm – 7:30pm
Thursday — 9:00 am – 12 noon, 1 pm – 7:30pm
Friday — 9:00 am – 12 noon, 1pm – 3pm
Saturday — 9:00 am – 12 noon
Sunday — Closed
Where to park your vehicle:
On St James St (free street parking). There are two handicapped spaces right beside the clinic on St James St and one in the staff parking lot right by the ramp. Do NOT park in the parking lot — that is for doctors and staff only.
Where to lock your bike:
Ride up the ramp to the front of the building and lock it to the deck railing in front of the window leading to reception. Please use a U-lock!
Access To Care When You Need It
It is important to us that our patients are able to access health care when they need it. There should be NO NEED to endure long waits at walk-in clinics or to go to the emergency department unless truly necessary and/or recommended to do so by a health professional.
Please note the following services we offer:
1. Same Day Office Appointments:
- Call our office first at 519-963-1875 to book an appointment with your own physician
- We will always do our best to offer same day appointments to those who need them
2. After Hours Telephone Health Advisory Service (1-866-553-7205 or 1-866-797-0000)
- You can use these numbers whenever our office is not open.
- You will be able to talk to a Registered Nurse and receive medical advice at any time.
3. Evening Clinic Monday to Thursdays 5:00 to 8:00pm
- For same day urgent appointments only
- Please call our office first to confirm an appointment time.
- Note this service is for our family medicine patients only
4. Saturday Morning Clinics 9:00am to 12:00pm
- For urgent appointments only
- Drop-in or walk-in accepted
- Note this service is for our family medicine patients only
5. Phone/ Fax Prescription Service is available, when appropriate, at no additional charge
- Please expect 24-48 hour turnaround time
- Note that we may not be able to do some prescription refills without an appointment consultation.
As always, if you require urgent medical care, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department or urgent care centre.
In return for these services, we again emphasize that you should not attend walk-in clinics and should call the numbers above as directed. We feel your care is much better if you are seen by one of our group physicians as they will have access to your chart and we will be informed of the care you received.
Uninsured Services
As your family doctors, it is our pleasure to help you with all of your health care needs. We will strive to provide you with the best medical care possible. As you may know, while most medical services are covered by OHIP, some services are not. This means that the government does not compensate us for providing these time-consuming services, and that it is illegal and immoral to bill them to the public system. Examples of these uninsured services can include prescription renewals over the phone, insurance forms, sick notes, travel medicine, and removal of cosmetic lesions.
In order to maintain the highest possible standard of care, it is our office policy to charge for uninsured services in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the Ontario Medical Association.
